The largest (and one of the most powerful) consortium of BEE companies in the Northern Cape, Meriting Investments, opens Empowermentsa Kimberley in order to do business linkages between people of the Northern cape with other dealmakers within the empowermentsa network.

Under the leadership of Mr Marcus Banga, Meriting is better known for its interests in property and casino businesses (Flamingo casino and Kuruman casino). It comprises the widest consortium which includes:
Real Civic Investments (representing the civic organizations of the Northern Cape);
Tswelopele Investments (formed by a group of businessmen and professionals from Galeshewe township);
Kgaraga Investments (a company owned by over 500 Northern Cape small miners);
Northern cape Housing and Development Company (formed in 1996 by 141 shareholders in the N. Cape);
Cebelihle Investments (a company constituted of Northern Cape born individuals who mostly hold fulltime professional employment).
