Black Economic Empowerment STORIES

EMPOWERMENTSA GOES HEAD HUNTING
Empowerment South Africa, empowermentsa, founder and director, Mphuthi MPHUTHI, is tapping into his wide network of contacts (running into hundreds) within government and the private sector to fill the shortage of Black executives and directors. Some of the people that Mphuthi has met are listed on the empowermentsa executive link (at the top left of the website).

“Yes, we want to assist companies that are battling to locate the right talent of Black executives for the burgeoning South African economy. We are fortunate to know people that have been in government and now want to venture into the private sector,” says Mphuthi who has even met people like Fidel Castro, and the two most popular American Bills: Bill Gates & Bill Clinton!!

Many of Empowerment South Africa, empowermentsa, contacts in government date back to Mphuthi’s days as a student activist. “A great deal of these people, with whom the current political foundation is formulated, have become leaders in government and have proven track records on government and its policies. “They have served their country well from the political side and now want to venture into the more challenging private sector. It will please me a great deal to see the private sector putting this talent to the test, especially in line with the vision of the African Renaissance, he added.

Mphuthi found it equally gratifying to see many of his colleagues from his days at the University of Cape Town having gone to leadership positions in government’s foreign affairs, treasury, SARS, as well as provincial governments. Exceptional cases have been those that have formed some of the leading BEE companies without being in the public eye. “This is the caliber of leadership that we would like to see steering the board rooms of giants like SAB-Miller, Investec, MTN and many more globally competitive corporates. “
